The Houston Texans like their cornerbacks and they’re not letting them get away.
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle first reported the deal.
The move comes three months after Houston signed cornerback Kareem Jackson to a four-year, $34 million deal. Friday’s news all but ensures that Joseph will start opposite of Jackson for the fifth consecutive season. The stability should allow the Texans to gradually work first-round pick Kevin Johnson into the mix.
Joseph, 31, had been set to enter the final year of a five-year deal he signed with the team prior to the 2011 season. He finished 23rd out of 108 qualified corners in Pro Football Focus’ ratings last season.
