We’re used to the second-year wideout being on the receiving end of passes, but now he’s hauling in scrutiny after video appeared of him punching Buffalo Bills safety Duke Williams in New York’s Week 4 victory.
The NFL has fined the LSU product $8,681 for the strike, which he was not penalized for, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, per a source.
Beckham plans to appeal the fine, via the New York Post.
“It’s tough to walk the line” between aggression and retaliation especially “when they target you,” Beckham said, per the New York Daily News.
While Beckham is not concerned, he should be mindful of his reputation around the league being that it’s just his second year. He’s already well known for his playmaking ability, but the wideout doesn’t want to be recognized as a dirty player.
