Manti Te’o has found a new home in New Orleans.
After spending the last four years in San Diego, where the inside linebacker was the Chargers‘ 2013 second-round pick, Te’o agreed to a two-year deal with the Saints on Tuesday, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported, per a source.
ESPN first reported the news.
Te’o logged 221 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two interceptions in 38 career games with the Chargers, though injuries likely led to the linebacker’s departure from Southern California. The former Notre Dame star missed time throughout his Chargers career with various foot and ankle ailments, eventually ending the 2016 season on injured reserve with a torn Achilles tendon.
Here are other developments in free agency we’re tracking Tuesday:
1. Former 49ers running back Shaun Draughn has agreed to terms with the Giants, his agent told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Draughn rushed for 196 yards and four scores and tallied 263 receiving yards and two touchdowns in San Francisco last season.
The Giants also announced they have re-signed linebacker Keenan Robinson.
